International Affairs

The area of International Affairs is complex and meant to supply political, economic, and geostrategic context for the other five categories of achievement that we cover in the 1960s Project. Its approach is organized by region and/or by continent and goes well beyond the usual surveys of the period restricted to the areas of Vietnam and Cuba – which the 1960s Project deliberately eschews.  With this approach, world affairs of the era – once obscured – come vividly to life, and further an understanding of how the 1960s contributes to why the present looks the way it does in many parts of the world.

For an overview of the period, go to https://www.the1960sproject.com/international-affairs/category-introduction-international-relations/

If you have an expertise in some aspect or an anecdote about the International Affairs of the 1960s, we encourage you to contribute here.
